Press Record Makes The Move To DC

This coming week is Podcast Movement in Washington, DC, which is one of the bigger industry events when it comes to the medium of podcasting. It is considered a great event not only for experienced podcasters and content creators but for new creators as well.

Press Record Studios co-founder Corey Gumbs will be a speaker at the event. Corey is speaking on the panel “Bridging the Digital Divide: Diverse Creators in AI and Tech - Opportunities, Risks, and the Path Forward” alongside Talib Jasir, Brée Nachelle, & Minista Jazz from Afros & Audio. The panel will be on August 21, 2024, from 3 PM to 3:30 PM at the Emerging Trends Track Stage (Inside Expo)

Corey will also be doing a meetup with the amazing folks at Afros and Audio for the Black Podcasters Association. That event will be on August 20th, from 6 PM - 8 PM at Cadillac Ranch, right across from the Podcast Movement venue! If you want to attend, get details here: https://bit.ly/BPAPodMeetup

Happy Birthday, RAGE Works!

Press Record Studios' foundation was laid by the RAGE Works brand, which happens to be celebrating a ten-year anniversary this week. RAGE Works started as a parent brand for Rich’s podcast, My Take Radio, and since then has become a full-fledged media brand. Rich and his team have covered events such Toy Fair, Comic Con, E3, CES, and many others. Visit RAGEWorks.net to check out the latest content, visit rageworksnetwork.com to check out all of the great shows on the network.

Pressing Questions

This week, the big question is: how many episodes do you need to launch a new podcast?

We asked Rich about it, and while the answer is not set in stone he gave us a solid blueprint based on his experience.

When it comes to launching a new show you at minimum want to get episode zero or the pilot episode out there. It will allow you to give a listener not just a preview of your episode but also the framework for future episodes plus you can tailor the pilot to be an introduction to you the host so that you build that relationship with your listener right away.

After you release the pilot, you want to have at least five episodes already recorded so that you can focus on other elements of the podcast, such as outreach, socials or just overall improvement of the show’s presentation, plus it eliminates the stress of week to week recording. I have implemented this strategy with many of our RAGE Works Podcast Network hosts and the proof is in their longevity.
